Supports Coordination involves the location, coordination, and monitoring of needed services and supports for an adult with autism.

What is Supports Coordination?

Supports Coordination involves the location, coordination, and monitoring of needed services and supports for an adult with autism. The Supports Coordinator assists participants in obtaining and coordinating needed waiver and other State plan services, as well as housing, medical, social, vocational, and other community services, regardless of funding source.

What is WJS Psychological Associates background with Supports Coordination?

WJS Psychological Associates was one of the very first agencies in Pennsylvania to become a provider of Supports Coordination. Our agency has been providing Supports Coordination services to Southwestern Pennsylvania’s adult autism population since 2009!

What are the educational requirements of a Supports Coordinator?

While the Adult Autism Waiver Program only requires Supports Coordinators to have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other related social sciences our Supports Coordinator has both a Master’s in Education and Master’s in Social Work. The Support s Coordinator supervisor has a Master’s degree in Special Education and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

How do I choose WJS Psychological Associates to become my Supports Coordinator provider?

There are two options:

  • First, at your initial meeting with the Bureau of Autism, you will be given a list of providers to choose from. If you would like WJS Psychological Associates to service your case, please give the BAS coordinator our name.
  • Second, if you are already receiving Support Coordination but are unhappy with the service you are receiving; please tell your BAS coordinator that you would like to transfer services to a new agency.
