WJS Allegheny Psychological Associates, Inc. utilizes an effective intervention curriculum for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This curriculum addresses all areas of development, and has a specific focus on the development of language and communication skills, socialization and play skills, cognitive development, reduction of behavioral outbursts and inappropriate community behaviors, and generalization of appropriate behaviors.
Effective treatment for autism must include a collaborative effort among all individuals involved with the child. This multi-system approach must include functional behavioral assessments of current skill levels, use of clear and concise teaching methods, and ongoing evaluations of progress. Our staff are trained in many different intervention techniques, and are monitored and supervised by experts trained in behavior modification. When all of the pieces of the puzzle of an effective treatment team work together, a child is more likely to increase their overall receptive and expressive language skills, as well as display a positive development of social interaction skills, academic skills and sensory integration.
